About HEBS™

HEBS was created to elevate beauty professionals, reward skill and artistry, and build a global beauty championship platform. From regional stages across America to the international spotlight in Lagos, Nigeria — this is where champions are made.

The Story of HEBS™

Why HEBS was created

A Platform Built for Beauty Professionals

The beauty industry has always been filled with extraordinary talent — braiders, barbers, locticians, stylists, and creative artists who dedicate years of their lives to mastering their craft. Yet for too long, there was no championship platform that truly celebrated that artistry at the highest level.

HEBS was created to change that. Built from the ground up to elevate beauty professionals, reward skill and artistry, and build a global beauty championship platform that connects talent across the United States and the world.

"The beauty industry finally has its championship league."

The vision

From the USA to the World Stage

The Road to HEBS™ Championship Tour is the national pathway — nine regional cities across the United States where the most talented beauty professionals compete in 10 elite divisions of braiding, loc artistry, barbering, and creative styling.

Top competitors advance to the HEBS National Championship in Secaucus, New Jersey, where division champions are crowned. The ultimate winners earn the HEBS Crown and represent the United States at HEBS Lagos — the international championship stage in Lagos, Nigeria.

HEBS USA leads to HEBS Lagos. The road does not end at Nationals — it leads to the world.

The experts behind the championship

Judges & Industry Panel

The Road to HEBS™ Championship Tour is judged by a panel of HEBS-trained, certified industry professionals with expertise in braiding, barbering, loc artistry, and professional styling. All competitions are evaluated using the official HEBS scoring system, designed to ensure fairness, consistency, and transparency.

Integrity

Judges must remain impartial, avoid conflicts of interest, and score independently using the official HEBS judging system. All judging decisions are final and are based strictly on visible execution — not personal preference.

Professional Excellence

Competitors are evaluated based on visible execution, technique, structure, and completion using standardized criteria. The 100-point scoring system — 85 performance points and 15 compliance points — ensures consistency across all categories.

Industry Respect

The judging process upholds discipline, professionalism, and adherence to category rules, honoring the craft and ensuring all work is completed to HEBS standards. The process celebrates artistry while maintaining competitive integrity.

Industry Panel

The Road to HEBS™ tour also invites respected beauty educators and industry leaders to participate in panel discussions and educational sessions during events — giving attendees the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals who have shaped the beauty industry.

The winner in every category is determined by the highest average score across all judges. HEBS judges represent the highest standards of professionalism and evaluate based on what is visible and executed — not personal preference.
