Time & Format
60-Minute Live Competition
Competitors must complete a full head braid design within 60 minutes on a live model. All work must be performed on stage in real time — no pre-braiding or pre-parting permitted before the competition begins.

Key Competition Rules
All competitors are responsible for understanding and following the rules of their category. Violations may result in point deductions or disqualification.
No Pre-Work Permitted
No pre-braiding, pre-parting, or pre-styling of any kind before competition starts. All work must begin and be completed within the official 60-minute window.
Stop When Time is Called
Competitors must immediately stop all work the moment time is called. Continuing after time has expired may result in disqualification.
Approved Products Only
Only use PureO Braiding Gel as the designated required product for this division. Products are provided at check-in — substitutions are not permitted.
Model Must Meet Requirements
Models must arrive with hair in the required natural condition — clean, unaltered, and ready for the competition. Competitors are responsible for their model's preparation.
Professional Conduct Required
Professional attitude and behavior is required at all times on the competition floor. Disrespect, disruptive behavior, or conduct unbecoming of a HEBS competitor will result in deductions.
Full Scope Must Be Completed
Competitors must complete the full head braid design as required by this division. Incomplete work affects judging scores across all criteria.
